Context
Population Services International is a registered Indian Society dedicated to the improvement of public health in India. PSI India’s mission is to empower the people of India to lead healthy lives. Over the past twenty years, PSI has collaborated with the GoI and a number of donors to increase the use of modern contraception for family planning, to provide products and services for the health of mothers and children and to decrease the spread of HIV/AIDS. PSI harnesses the vitality of the private sector to address health problems of the low-income and vulnerable populations using social marketing to achieve positive behaviour change by promoting ideas, products and services conducive to better health. PSI promotes and distributes 11 health products, using commercial channels and outlets to make available quality health products at affordable prices. The basket of products includes condoms, oral contraceptives, ORS, water purification solutions; IFA tablets; clean delivery kits and pre-packaged STI treatment kit.

PSI’s is in the process of implementing its five year plan developed in 2008 which focus on maximizing health impact, developing organizational capacity and strengthening its financial foundations for expanded health impact. To implement this ambitious plan, PSI is looking for a Program Manager

Purpose
Support program staff in successful implementation of program in the state.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support in developing state-level plans in accordance with overall regional project strategy
Coordinate with various departments for smooth functioning of program activities.
Oversee collection and reporting of data required under the state and accommodate project-wide monitoring activities
Support in identifying and undertaking mutually-beneficial collaborative relationships with other implementing partners in the state.
Document program activities
Shall be responsible for managing UNICEF Projects
Shall be coordinating with Urban Health Centers

Essential Values, Behaviors and Skills
Desire to contribute to improved public health in India and an understanding of public health issues in India.
Demonstrated understanding of the behavior change communication, research and technical medical services.
Strong report writing & presentation skills
Planning & Organizational Skills
Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Knowledge of regional languages would be an advantage
Good computer skills
Highest integrity, maturity and professionalism
Willingness to travel extensively in India 30-40% of time

Qualification & Experience

Graduate / Post-Graduate degree in business management, social sciences, rural management or related field.
At least 2-3 years of experience in leading and managing field operations at the state level.
Other relevant qualification will also be preferred, if the candidate is having more experience in the relevant field.
